GETTING MORE MILES OUT OF YOUR POLISHER SCRUBBER Print E-mail

Here is some good advice from the desk of our Workshop Manager, Lizanne Park, on looking after your rotary polisher scrubber.....

1. Take control

The best way to control a polisher is to lower the handle down to you hips.  Place the handle against you hips. When turning on the machine make sure that the handle is firmly gripped. With a smooth movement lift the handle gently upwards if you want the machine to go right and move slightly down if you want the machine to go left.  Once you get the hang of the machine you can relax and the cleaning will go smoothly.

2. Remove the drive disk after cleaning

When you have completed cleaning and are ready to pack the machine away, remember do not leave the drive disc (pad drive disc) on the machine.  This causes damage to the disc. It could cause your machine to be off balance and wobble when in use.

3. Do not stretch the cable

If the machine does not reach find a closer wall socket. If the cable is stretched, it will break.

Wrap the cable around the cable guides that are on the machine, don’t just roll up the cable.  This is to prevent the cable from twisting and breaking.  A lot of repairs done to these machines involve the cable.  Stretch out the cable make sure no bends or twist, then wrap the cable onto the guides.

4.  Clean your machine

A build up of dirt and over-spray of polish builds up onto your handle and on you machine.  This doesn’t look good and it is all about image when going to a customer. After all you are in the cleaning industry.

5. Stop-Start warning

Do not stop start you machine too many times in a short period of time.  This is to prevent you start capacitor from blowing.

Remember your machine is like an employee if you treat it right

it will work for you.

Herewith some handy hints for maintaining your Carpet & Upholstery Cleaning Machine that you have purchased from AFM Clean Tech, specialists in sales, hire and service / repair of industrial cleaning equipment.

After use the pump must be flushed out with clean water.

Fill the clean water tank with clean water (no chemicals).

Spray water out using your wand.

Swop wand with upholstery tool and continue spraying.

This will flush out your pump and your tooling.

Your wand and upholstery tool will need so attention as well

Using a small amount of silicone grease, rub onto the piston of the triggers.

This will ensure smooth operation and slow down wear and tear on the pistons.

Looking after the switches.

When switching your machine on/off do not use your foot, rather bend down and switch it off by hand.

Yes, it is quick and easy to use your foot, but it causes damage to the switches.

Broken switches result in unnecessary expenses.

AFM CLEAN TECH AT YOUR SERVICE Print E-mail

AFM CLEAN TECH CUSTOMER CARE POLICY

Think about the last time you had a negative buying experience.

·         Did an e-commerce site fail to respond to your email query?

·         Did a sales associate fail to know the difference between a 220V and a 380V Vacuum system?

·         Perhaps you were left on hold for an inordinate amount of time when you called a Company and then the promise of getting a reply or quotation took days?

Negative buying experiences are almost always linked to shoddy customer service. Even though most businesses claim that they put people first, it's rare to find good customer support.

But customer service isn’t extinct.  In fact, AFM Clean Tech has endeavoured  to focus more attention on their service. AFM Management and Staff are committed to giving the best!

We feel strong customer service is a business essential, it isn’t difficult if we achieve these 10 basic rules:

1.  Commit to quality service. Everyone in the company needs to be devoted to creating a positive experience for the customer. Always try to go above and beyond customer expectations.

2.  Know your products. Convey an articulate and in-depth knowledge of products and services to win customer trust and confidence. Know your company’s products, services, and return policies inside and out. Try to anticipate the types of questions that customers will ask.

3.  Know your customers. Try to learn everything you can about your customers in order to tailor your service approach to their needs and buying habits. Talk to customers about their experience with your company, and listen to their complaints. In this way, you can get to the root of customer dissatisfaction.

4.  Treat people with courtesy and respect. Remember that every time that you, your employees, and your colleagues make contact with a customer — whether it’s by email, phone, written correspondence, or a face-to-face meeting — the interaction leaves an impression with that customer. Use conciliatory phrases — "Sorry to keep you waiting," "Thanks for your order," "You’re welcome," and "It’s been a pleasure helping you" — to demonstrate not only your commitment to customer satisfaction but your dedication to courtesy.

5.  Never argue with a customer. You know very well that the customer isn’t always right. However, it is important that you do not focus on the missteps of a particular situation; instead, concentrate on how to fix it. Research shows that 7 out of 10 customers will do business with a company again if that business resolves a complaint in their favour.

6.  Don’t leave customers in limbo. Repairs, call-backs, and emails need to be handled with a sense of urgency. Customers want immediate resolution, and if you can give it to them, you will probably win their repeat business.

7.  Always provide what you promise. Fail to do this and you’ll lose both credibility and customers. If you guarantee a quote within 24 hours, get the quote out in a day or less. If and when you neglect to make good on your promise, apologize to the customer and offer some type of compensation, such as a discount or free delivery. Overall, only make promises that you are confident that you and your business can keep.

8.  Assume that your customers tell the truth. Even though it may appear that customers lie to manipulate a situation to their advantage, it is to your advantage to give them the benefit of the doubt. The majority of customers don’t like to complain; in fact, they’ll go out of their way — perhaps all the way to a competitor — to avoid it. If you hear unhappy rumblings from your customers, take their complaints to heart and do your best to appease their dissatisfaction.

9.  Focus on making customers — not on sales. Salespeople, especially those who get paid on commission, sometimes focus on the volume instead of on the quality of the sale. Remember that to keep a customer’s business is more important than to close a sale. Research shows that it costs six times more to attract a new customer than it does to keep an existing one. Moreover, happy customers are the best and most effective way to find new customers.

10.  Make it easy to buy. The buying experience in your store, on your Web site, or through your catalogue should be as easy as possible. Eliminate unnecessary paperwork and forms, help people to find what they need, explain how products work, and do whatever else you can to facilitate transactions.

Please do not hesitate to phone should you have any problem or queries !

SECRETS TO MOPPING FLOORS Print E-mail

AFM clean tech has a large range of mopping systems which give better results through quality products and correct cleaning procedures

SOME GREAT POINTERS & ADVICE: -

Damp / Wet Mopping

Always “cut-in” first.

Mop the floor area using the figure eight pattern.

Overlap each pass.

Keep the “heel” of the mop on the floor and use both sides of the mop.

To turn the mop over, keep the mop on the floor and gently roll over to avoid splashing the walls and skirting boards.

For edges and corners use the “cutting-in” method.

Keep the mop head parallel to the wall. This eliminates splashing and dirtying walls, which will result in wasting extra time to wash and wipe down.

Mopping Solution:

AFM Neutral Kleen is an all purpose cleaning detergent which is mild and effective.

This concentrated solution is mixed with warm water 1:20 and cleans Dirt and shoe marks without removing the sealer/polish.

Remember to change the water as dirty chemical and water will not Give sparkling results.

AFM double bucket systems – our Econo range with a polypropylene wringer or the AFM Geerpress double bucket with a steel wringer is the best option.

Clean water and dirty water buckets ensure that the cleaning is done hygienically and saves time without having to keep changing water. However, single bucket systems are also available for small areas.

For the best results always use CLEAN MOPS and CLEAN WATER.

AFM Clean Tech has other products such as the Luxury Lobby Mop, which is used to dry sweep hard floors keeping them dust free at all times.

Floor Cleaning Chemicals:

AFM carries a wide range of floor dressing chemicals, from neutral cleaners to floor polish, stripper, degreasers and even marble & terrazzo polishing powder.

NEW HOT ADDITION TO OUR GREAT RANGE OF CLEANING EQUIPMENT! THE AFM MECHANICAL PUSHSWEEPER30 Print E-mail

Image

Recommended to clean:-

Parkades, Warehouses, large Malls (walkways and passages)

For level and smooth surfaces.

It sweeps up, not only small debris eg:-  cigarette ends, scraps of wood shavings,

polystyrene, metal shavings, broken glass, small stones, sand and dust as well as

bulky debris like papers, leaves etc.

Capacity of the bin is 30lt. Once full it is easy to empty.

The side broom enables cleaning right up to walls, by pushing the dirt to the middle

of the sweeper where the main broom effectively sweeps it up into the bin.

The area cleaned is 2500m²/hour!

So, now the days of sweeping with yard brooms are over, not only does conventional sweeping take up too much time, the dust is merely displaced and becomes airborne, which results in allergies caused by dust mites.

The AFM Push Sweeper 30 is a fast worker, containing the dust and dirt in the bin for

easy disposal.
